Another reason not to use pharmaceuticals to lower cholesterol. Over the past few years more and more of these dire warnings are coming out. Please consider using natural means to lower cholesterol. If you don't know where to start email me at drclouthier@gmail.com and I will help.

Cough Medicine and Cold Medicines for Kids

Have you noticed that we are seeing more and more of this type of warning. It seems whenever we think we have found a great miracle cure in the pharmaceutical or medical industry we see quickly that it was too good to be true. Of course you will hear the occasional knock on natural remedies too. Many times when you try to find factual support for the arguments against the natural cures there is minimal substance. For instance, there were some claims two years ago that a specific herb had caused a basketball players heart to race and become irregular. This was splashed all over the national media outlets however it was never confirmed that the herb was the cause. With regard to say, cold and flu medications, there is actually injury or death in child cases on more than one occasion. Of course this is only the over the counter variety. My immediate question is: What about the prescription varieties ? These are brought up briefly in the news and are quickly buried with no thought as to responsibility for these injuries.

This is the reason that I use only natural and organic food supplements that are pharmaceutical grade. I never have to worry about someone eating too many whole organic beets for instance. Takes a big weight off my shoulders and lets me sleep easy knowing that I am not harming my patients now or in the future.

Who's In Bed Together

I joke with my patients regularly that all I get every year from the main nutritional company I use in my office is a calendar. No trips to florida or colorado, no golf outings or clubs, no free lunches brought every week to the office. I am thankful this is the way it is for me though because i can rest easy at night and know that what i recommend is based solely on my belief that it will be the best thing to help the patient.

Read this link when you get a chance, it is the tip of the iceberg.

Angioplasty not very effective... are you disappointed ?

How many people do you know who have had angioplasty over the past 10-15 years that were told this was the best way to deal with their heart disease. Now we find that the treatment is no better than pharmaceutical drugs. I am waiting for the headline below to hit the papers next:

"Angioplasty and pharmaceutical drugs not effective when compared to nutritional/homeopathic/emotional and dietary approaches in the treatment of heart disease"

FDA Warned of Future Problems

In this article the FDA was once again warned about the problem and they still seem to be above the law. How many warnings are enough before Big Pharma is actually held liable, or the medical professionals who prescribe. It seems there are many that think that the risks to the american public are severe. Here is hoping you are seeing a pattern to what happens.

1. New Drug released before being fully studied or tested
2. FDA states need for public to have access to new "wonder drug"
3. People are severely and adversely affected or killed by medication
4. Pharmaceutical companies and FDA both point the finger at each other and no one takes blame
5. Untold hundreds and thousands of people unwittingly damage there lives at the hands of the medical/pharmaceutical profession. That doesn't mean that this doesn't happen in the alternative health world. It does. But the thousands of people who are adversely affected in mainstream medicine get ignored, while the one person who has an adverse affect from an herb is plastered all over the papers and tv's. Interesting how this all works. Just follow the money.

Disturbing Pharmaceutical Risks

Click on this link to watch this segment on Bayers Aids Tainted Medications that were released into the marketplace. Scary. I believe those who are choosing natural health and wellness will continue to see improved health while others will see health decline.

Call Me Crazy... but I See It Every Day

If you are wondering why you are prescribed certain meds by your medical professional, you may want to consider this link . Not just because I said it but because of the comments that you will read here from a medical doctor. As I am moving in and out of my treatment rooms I see these reps come in and out of my office building over and over, day after day. Lets just say that the young men and women that walk into my office are jocks (former football players usually) and cheerleaders or very "smart" looking women.

What would be really interesting to find out is how many of these women and men are strippers and underwear models.
